Animal Medical Hospital Co-Founder Dr. Richard Murray Coe
Based in North Carolina, Dr. Richard Murray Coe established Charlotte’s Animal Medical Hospital and Urgent Care alongside his wife, Dr. Susan Coe, in 1983. They began operations in a renovated home on Monroe Road, but have consistently updated the facility’s capabilities over more than four decades. Under the guidance of Dr. Richard Murray Coe and his wife, various construction projects have expanded the 25,000-square-foot facility. Veterinary Economics Magazine named Animal Medical Hospital and Urgent Care Hospital of the Year.
In addition to his work at Animal Medical Hospital and Urgent Care, Dr. Richard Murray Coe serves on the Mike Thomas Family Veterinary Practice Institute board. In this position, he helps provide Auburn University veterinary students and recent graduates with comprehensive training opportunities.
Dr. Coe received his doctorate in veterinary medicine from Auburn University in Alabama. Apart from his work as a veterinary care services provider, his interests range from following professional and Southeastern Conference football to reading books about investing. He also enjoys traveling, both for pleasure and to attend important veterinary industry meetings.
